Apple bucks the trend as global smartphone shipments fall 6%, Samsung drops 13.4%

<p>Apple yesterday announced that it <a href="https://9to5mac.com/2018/11/01/apple-earnings-fy18-q4/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sold 46.89M iPhones[/url] in the previous quarter. The company’s staggered iPhone releases both this year and last make comparisons tricky, but the bottom line was slight growth of 0.5%. IDC data now puts that number into perspective.</p>
<p>The firm says that global smartphone shipments fell by a full 6% in Q3 (Apple’s fiscal Q4) …</p>
