Facebook rolls out 'Quiet Mode' on iOS to spend less time on Facebook

Facebook is encouraging users to spend less time on Facebook.

What you need to know


Facebook has launched a new 'Quiet Mode' feature on its iOS app.
The feature limits notifications and blocks access to parts of the app.
You can, of course, turn the feature off if you want.


Facebook has rolled out a new feature today to its iOS app called 'Quiet Mode'. The company announced the feature in a blog post this afternoon.

The feature will limit push notifications from the app, and if you try to open the app while 'Quiet Mode' turned on, you'll be greeted with a screen reminding you that you turned it on as well as how much time is left before you have access to Facebook again. You can, of course, turn the mode off and get back into the app if you want to.
