Skype for iPhone, iPad gets anti-shake, Bluetooth support

Skype has updated its iPhone and iPad apps to include a couple of new, cool features. First off, both apps now offer Bluetooth support so users can use Bluetooth headsets with the Skype iOS apps. Bluetooth support in Skype requires an iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4th generation, or iPad 2.

The second feature is anti-shake technology for video calls placed with the iPhone app. The anti-shake feature applies image stabilization when walking and video conferencing with your iPhone at the same time. Though it's a welcome feature, you have to wonder how many people walk and video chat simultaneously.

And just to ensure parity across all devices running Skype, the company has added ads to the iOS versions of its software just like it did with the Mac version. However, as with the Mac version, users can get around the ads by buying a Skype Premium account or keeping a balance on your Skype credit account (even one cent will work). Skype for iPad and iPhone are both free apps.
