Foxconn Shipping 24 Million iPhone 4Gs in 2010?

Perhaps after the supply and demand issues that continue to encapsulate the iPad, word on the street is that Foxconn is planning on shipping 24 million iPhone 4Gs, starting in June, according to DigiTimes.DigiTimes is citing sources from Foxconn, that are saying the company will ship 4.5 million phones in the first half, and 19.5 million during the rest of 2010.  The plan is that Apple will pull the wool off of the iPhone 4G on June 7, 2010 at Apple's WWDC.  Some details about the phone is that it will adopt in-plane switching panels along with fringe-field switching technology as well as a 960x640 resolution.  LG Display and Prime View International are the panel suppliers.  In using FFS technology, it will enable a wider viewing angle and better visual quality when the phone is under sunlight, and should in turn help with the phone's e-book reader features.  An example of this current technology would be HTC's Hero unit. The upgrade in the resolution would also best current Android phones, that maintain a 854x480 display.Other features include an Arm Cortex A8 processor as well as a 512 MB memory module from Samsung Electronics, which doubles that of the iPhone 3GS, seizing the opportunity of the multi-tasking ability of iPhone OS 4.0.And that talked about battery life?  The new iPhone panel is 33% thinner than that of previous iPhones which allows for more space for larger batteries that will be supplied by Simplo Technology and Dynaback International Technology, DigiTimes continued.Image courtesy of computer-techs.net
