Amazon Game Studio goes mobile with Air Patriots launch
Amazon Game Studios on Thursday announced Air Patriots, the first offering for mobile device to come out of the online retailer’s game development team.
Available as a free download for Android, iOS, and Kindle Fire devices, Air Patriots is modeled after tower defense games in which you defend yourself from invaders by placing obstacles in their path. In Amazon’s take on the tower defense genre, you have a squadron of planes that move around the battlefield trying to destroy enemy tanks before the bad guys exit the map.
In Air Patriots, you use your squadron of planes to destroy enemy tanks before they can escape from one of seven battlefield maps.
When launched, the game features seven different battlefield maps—Grass, Nuke, Desert, Ice, Fire, Magic, and Swamp—and four difficulty settings.
