Apple’s softening on employees with outside projects, but it’s harder than diamonds in the retail sphere. And an Apple co-founder gets the hard-boiled treatment. The remainders for Tuesday, November 13, 2012 are hardy souls.


Apple Gives In to Employee Perks (Wall Street Journal)


Tim Cook knows which side his bread is buttered on. Apple is reportedly offering new perks to its employees, including a program dubbed “Blue Sky,” which lets workers take a few weeks on pet engineering projects—similar to Google’s vaunted “20 percent time.” The company is also said to be offering other benefits, including a personal shiatsu session with trained masseuse Bob Mansfield.
