Apple’s Maps app launch was marred with widespread criticism from the media and consumers due to the lacklustre points-of-interest (POI) data. The situation was so bad that Tim Cook had to put up a public letter on Apple’s website apologising for the half-baked iOS 6 Maps app and pointing customers to rival Mapping services.
