Apple and Liquidmetal collectively awarded patent for mass production of Liquidmetal
In 2010, Apple signed an agreement with LiquidMetal Technologies to get exclusive access to the firm’s proprietary “amorphous metal alloys,” often referred to as “metallic glass”. The company tested the material in the iPhone 3G’s SIM cutter tool and then extended its agreement till 2014 a few years later.
