iTunes Store unavailable for some users

You have money. You want to give that money to Apple, in exchange for digital goods at the iTunes Store. The problem: Right now, you can’t.

Apple’s System Status webpage states that “some users” may be unable to make iTunes purchases at the moment. The issues began cropping up around 11:30a.m. ET, according to the website.

Indeed, a quick Twitter search shows that a number of people are encountering issues not only making purchases, but connecting to the iTunes Store at all from iOS devices. (It's not clear if the issue also affects iTunes under Mac OS X or Windows. The Store is working normally, on all platforms, for several Macworld editors who tested it.)

Generally speaking, these are the kinds of issues that Apple resolves within a few hours’ time. If the company releases further information on what caused or resolved the outage, we’ll share it here. We won’t hold our breath if you won’t hold yours. To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here
