Extreme tech in the middle of nowhere
   




   

In early July, I was joined by frequent Macworld contributor, Ben Long, to discuss his upcoming participation in the Mongol Rally. Not only did Ben survive the adventure, but he, his pal, and his Fiat Panda crossed the finish line. During the journey he learned not only to put up with bad roads, police officers looking for a bribe, and the lack of fruit and veg in the eastern block, but also what technology is (and isn’t) worth hauling into the middle of nowhere.
