Unleash your inner Picasso with Pogo Connect's new pressure-sensitive brush nibs
If you’re looking for a break from iPhone event lead-up or smartwatch hysteria, how about some exciting news in the world of iPad styluses? Ten One Design on Thursday announced four new magnetically-interchangeable nibs for its pressure-sensitive Pogo Connect stylus, including 4.5mm and 6mm rubber nibs along with two brush tips.
The five nibs are grouped into R (rubber) and B (brush) lines, respectively. The R1, R2, and R3 nibs are each available for $10 (for two nibs of the same style). Ten One describes the 4.5mm R1 as a nib primarily for writing and detail-work; it’s the company’s smallest rubber nib to date and the only one of the five that isn’t supported on the iPad mini. The 6mm R2 is thinner than the original Pogo Connect’s nib—the 7.3mm R3, also available—and is designed for sketching and increased precision. It’s nice to see smaller rubber nibs from the company, as one of the biggest complaints I had regarding the original Pogo Connect was its relative bulk while drawing.
However, the two brush nibs—available as a $25 set—are far more intriguing: The B1 nib is a straight-edge brush tip that resembles the head of the original Nomad Brush stylus, and can be trimmed to your liking, while the B2 is an angled-brush tip designed for pressure and detail-work. Both are entirely pressure-sensitive, though you may have to calibrate the tips using Ten One's Pogo Connect helper iOS app.
