according to app-discovery platform
Appsfire and confirmed by AppShopper (via
MacRumors). As of the time of this writing, there are now 1,006,557 iOS apps available for download in the US, with 473,000 of those optimized for the iPad.</p>
<p>Back in October, Apple announced it had more than 1 million apps in its worldwide App Store catalog, but this is the first time the number of apps available in the United States App Store has hit the seven-figure mark. As MacRumors notes, its sister site
AppShopper, which tracks all iOS apps, says that there have been a total of 1,439,451 iOS apps approved by Apple since the launch of the App Store back in 2008.</p><p style="padding:5px;clear:both;">
