U.S. District Judge Denise Cote may have ruled against Apple’s ebook machinations, but two economists from Caltech and NYU are arguing that the ruling was a mistake. The pair filed an amicus curiae (“friend of the court”) brief in support of Apple’s ebook practices, arguing that the company’s agreements promoted competition, rather than eliminating it.
