Apple’s stock split: Why 7 to 1?

The best reason I've heard is to make $100 per share the new all-time high.<img alt="" border="0" src="http://stats.wordpress.com/b.gif?host=fortune.com&blog=64089429&post=456273&subd=fortunedotcom&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" />
