Five classic Paul McCartney albums given new lease of life as iPad apps

<div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even" property="content:encoded"><p><a href='http://www.imore.com/five-classic-paul-mccartney-albums-given-new-lease-life-ipad-apps' title="Five classic Paul McCartney albums given new lease of life as iPad apps"><img src='http://www.imore.com/sites/imore.com/files/styles/large_wm_brw/public/field/image/2014/07/paul_mccartney_album_apps.jpg?itok=MyMNVO3n' /></p> <p>Paul McCartney is the latest artist to transform his music albums into apps for iPad owners. Five classic albums – Band on the Run, McCartney, McCartney II, RAM and Wings over America – have been made into apps, which can be downloaded from the App Store. The iPad apps include remastered audio tracks, interviews, rare photographs, album artwork and videos (rehearsal footage and documentaries).</p> <!--break--> <p>An interesting part of these apps is how they're cheaper than the remastered albums that are already available through Apple's iTunes music store, setting fans back by $7.99 each. Artists like McCartney are exploring the digital realm of mobile devices to provide advanced experiences beyond listening and enjoying music. Interactive media, coupled with exclusive content really makes these offerings worth purchasing.</p> <p>It also makes sense for the music industry to tap into the app ecosystem, especially since a large proportion of sales through stores are apps and games. That said, will you be willing to fork out yet more money for these apps if you already own said albums?</p> <ul><li><a href="https://itunes.apple.com/app/band-on-run-paul-mccartney/id723450958?mt=8&amp;at=10l3Vy&amp;ct=d_im" title="" rel="nofollow">Band on the Run</li> <li><a href="https://itunes.apple.com/app/mccartney-paul-mccartney/id723450980?mt=8&amp;at=10l3Vy&amp;ct=d_im" title="" rel="nofollow">McCartney</li> <li><a href="https://itunes.apple.com/app/mccartney-ii-paul-mccartney/id723451015?mt=8&amp;at=10l3Vy&amp;ct=d_im" title="" rel="nofollow">McCartney II</li> <li><a href="https://itunes.apple.com/app/ram-paul-and-linda-mccartney/id655077662?mt=8&amp;at=10l3Vy&amp;ct=d_im" title="" rel="nofollow">RAM</li> <li><a href="https://itunes.apple.com/app/wings-over-america-paul-mccartney/id700913557?mt=8&amp;at=10l3Vy&amp;ct=d_im" title="" rel="nofollow">Wings over America</li> </ul><p>Source: The Guardian</p> </div></div></div><div id="comment-wrapper-nid-25762"></div><img width='1' height='1' src='http://tipb.com.feedsportal.com/c/33998/f/616881/s/3c8d6314/sc/15/mf.gif' border='0'/><br clear='all'/>
