Next-gen iPads with anti-reflection coating reportedly in production

[/url]

We're rapidly approaching the time of year when new Apple toys start to emerge, and Bloomberg has today published a couple of tantalizing details surrounding the company's next-generation iPads. Citing two sources "with knowledge of the matter," the outlet claims the full-sized next-gen iPad, at 9.7 inches, has already entered production, "with an unveiling projected for the end of this quarter or early next." Apple's next iPad Mini is also claimed to be entering production, with availability likely "by the end of the year."

And today's report also offers up fresh information on a new hardware feature that could make the possible iPad Air 2 easier to read.

Bloomberg suggests an anti-reflection coating will be used on the larger iPad's display. Such a coating could make the new iPads easier view in bright conditions, particular outdoors in sunlight — similar coatings are already being explored by rivals such as Corning, which produces Gorilla Glass. However, the report states the new coating could cause "manufacturing complications," limiting Apple's output of the devices.

Bloomberg also restates rumors that the iPhone 6 will come in 4.7 and 5.5-inch flavors; the news network previously reported that these entered mass production in July.

Source: Bloomberg
