Media picks of the week: Nazi zombies redux, new indie music, Choose Your Own Autobiography and more!

<div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even" property="content:encoded"><p><a href='http://www.imore.com/media-picks-week-nazi-zombies-redux-new-indie-music-choose-your-own-autobiography-and-more' title="Media picks of the week: Nazi zombies redux, new indie music, Choose Your Own Autobiography and more!"><img src='http://www.imore.com/sites/imore.com/files/styles/large_wm_brw/public/field/image/2014/10/dead_snow_2.jpg?itok=T7nL_bP9' /></p> <p>Every week Apple adds tons of new media content on iTunes — music, books, movies and more. It's impossible to keep up with all of it, but it's not impossible to pick out the very best. Here they are! This week we've got a new gorefest about Nazi zombies, new music from Stars and We Were Promised Jetpacks, and much more.</p> <!--break--> <h2>No One Is Lost - Stars</h2> <div class="video_iframe"><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Dr5VE3ogdl8?rel=0&amp;autoplay=0&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;controls=2&amp;autohide=1&amp;showinfo=0" width="627" height="353" class="video-filter video-youtube vf-dr5ve3ogdl8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></div> <p>Canadian indie poppers Stars produced a dance-heavy album that the band itself claims to "out-throb the throb" of dance clubs. To draw inspiration they recorded the album in a space above a Montreal dance club. There are traces of EDM here, with slow dance numbers, new wave-influenced songs and straight up power pop. Any way you slice it, No One Is Lost is one of the best Stars albums in years.</p> <ul><li>$9.99 - <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/no-one-is-lost/id905145704?at=10l3Vy&amp;ct=d_im" title="" rel="nofollow">Download now</li> </ul><h2>Unravelling - We Were Promised Jetpacks</h2> <div class="video_iframe"><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/NWrenFIhn5E?rel=0&amp;autoplay=0&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;controls=2&amp;autohide=1&amp;showinfo=0" width="627" height="353" class="video-filter video-youtube vf-nwrenfihn5e" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></div> <p>Scottish indie rockers We Were Promised Jetpacks are back with their third studio album, adding a new member, multiinstrumentalist Stuart McGachan. The band treads familiar territory with slow tension-building songs that explode into gigantic walls of sound. The albums opens with Safety In Numbers, a synth-heavy song with an uptempo beat, a theme continuing with the second track, Peaks and Troughs. There's a sinister, rhythmic quality to this record that will appeal to anyone with a taste for The Editors and Interpol at their finest, but We Were Promised Jetpacks aren't pretenders — they have their own unique sound that's showcased in the 11 tracks on Unravelling.</p> <ul><li>$9.99 - <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/unravelling/id911853831?at=10l3Vy&amp;ct=d_im" title="" rel="nofollow">Download now</li> </ul><h2>Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead</h2> <div class="video_iframe"><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/glIoXwTcG60?rel=0&amp;autoplay=0&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;controls=2&amp;autohide=1&amp;showinfo=0" width="627" height="353" class="video-filter video-youtube vf-glioxwtcg60" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></div> <p>Nazi zombies vs. Russian POW zombies. What's not to love? 2009's Dead Snow is an offbeat cult hit about Norwegian college students who unwittingly stumble across Nazi zombies frozen in the snow. Dead Snow 2 picks up the story right where the first movie left off; the sole survivor from the first film is safe for the moment, only to discover that the zombie Colonel Herzog is back. Enlisting the help of zomvie Russian POWs from World War II, Martin must save the Norwegian town that Herzog and his Nazi zombies are bent on destroying. Goofy, bloody fun.</p> <ul><li>$6.99 - <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/movie/dead-snow-2-red-vs-dead/id916480950?at=10l3Vy&amp;ct=d_im" title="" rel="nofollow">Rent now</li> </ul><p>(And if you haven't watched the original Dead Snow, you can <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/movie/dead-snow/id372911351?at=10l3Vy&amp;ct=d_im" title="" rel="nofollow">rent it for $0.99.)</p> <h2>The Legend of Korra, Book Four: Balance</h2> <div class="video_iframe"><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/NCEFMY4TWGw?rel=0&amp;autoplay=0&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;controls=2&amp;autohide=1&amp;showinfo=0" width="627" height="353" class="video-filter video-youtube vf-ncefmy4twgw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></div> <p>Nickelodeon isn't broadcasting The Legend of Korra anymore, but it's showing it online. You can buy the new (and final) season as a season pass on iTunes, if you want to make sure you don't miss an episode. Book Four picks up the story three years later, when Korra, having renounced her identity as Avatar, is suddenly thrust into a new conflict involving Kuvira and her grab for power.</p> <ul><li>$29.99 - <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/tv-season/legend-korra-book-4-balance/id917393749?at=10l3Vy&amp;ct=d_im" title="" rel="nofollow">Buy now</li> </ul><h2>Choose Your Own Autobiography - Neil Patrick Harris</h2> <p><a href='http://www.imore.com/media-picks-week-nazi-zombies-redux-new-indie-music-choose-your-own-autobiography-and-more' title="Media picks of the week: Nazi zombies redux, new indie music, Choose Your Own Autobiography and more!"><img src='http://www.imore.com/sites/imore.com/files/styles/large/public/field/image/2014/10/choose_your_own_autobiography.jpg?itok=Iw_cIIIO' /></p> <p>Readers of a certain age remember the Choose Your Own Adventure books, in which you controlled the narrative by making decisions at the bottom of the page that led you to a different part of the book. Beloved actor and celebrity Neil Patrick Harris borrows from this concept for his own memoirs. He explains that instead of trying to find a common thread that ties together the random elements of his life, he encourages the readers to choose their own version of his autobiography.</p> <ul><li>$10.99 - <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/neil-patrick-harris-choose/id879908595?mt=11&amp;at=10l3Vy&amp;ct=d_im" title="" rel="nofollow">Download now</li> </ul><h2>Your movie, TV and music picks?</h2> <p>There are my media picks for this week. What have you found in iTunes that you love? Let me know in the comments.</p> </div></div></div><div id="comment-wrapper-nid-27788"></div><img width='1' height='1' src='http://tipb.com.feedsportal.com/c/33998/f/616881/s/3f9c5369/sc/17/mf.gif' border='0'/><br clear='all'/>
