Alpine announces its first aftermarket CarPlay system

<div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even" property="content:encoded"><p><a href='http://www.imore.com/alpine-announces-its-first-aftermarket-carplay-system' title="Alpine announces its first aftermarket CarPlay system"><img src='http://www.imore.com/sites/imore.com/files/styles/large/public/field/image/2014/10/alpine_carplay.jpg?itok=lrTaBAKl' />[/url]</p> <p>Alpine has announced a new in-dash system built with CarPlay in mind, the iLX-007. The unit is Alpine's first CarPlay-compatible display. In addition to CarPlay, the iLX-007 will also connect to the Alpine TuneIt app, along with car rear camera systems.</p> <!--break--> <p>The iLX-007 features a 7-inch capacitive display. Once you plug in your device to your vehicle, you can text messages, phone calls, directions, and music, all powered by Siri, if you wish, right on your car's dashboard. The Alpine iLX-007 also has dedicated hardware Home, Siri, volume, and track buttons. The unit also lets you watch video from your phone when your car is parked through the AUX-Video input.</p> <p>The Alpine iLX-007 is currently shipping to authorized Alpine retailers, and will run you $800. That price is in line with similar units already on sale from competitor Pioneer. Will you be picking up this new Alpine unit? Leave your thoughts in the comments.</p> <p>Source: Alpine</p> </div></div></div><div id="comment-wrapper-nid-27954"></div><img width='1' height='1' src='http://tipb.com.feedsportal.com/c/33998/f/616881/s/3fe0a3c2/sc/15/mf.gif' border='0'/><br clear='all'/>
