Games for iPhone and iPad have grown significantly in China over the last year, and the country has surpassed the U.S. as the top area for games by revenue. According to App Annie, games saw the most growth of any category on the App Store in the last year. Chinese consumers seem to favor locally-developed titles. The report also notes that together, the U.S., China, and Japan make up about 75% off all gaming revenue on iOS.
App Annie's report also highlights the growth of music and entertainment apps in the last year, with both categories seeing strong growth across the world.
