Street Fighter IV Now 30% Off in the App Store; DLC Coming Soon?
Street Fighter IV was released for console mavens yesterday, and Capcom didn't want iDevice fans to feel left out. They've got a three day sale going on in the iTunes app store on the iPhone/iPod touch version, which you can now get for only $6.99.But wait--you might be one of five lucky people to win a free copy! In the Capcom blog, they announced that they're looking for ideas on which Street Fighter character you'd like to see added to the DLC in the iPhone version. Leave a comment with your idea at the forum and you might be one of the five winners. Sakura and Dudley look to be early favorites.Getting new characters is a good idea, too, because some of the comments on SFIV in the app store indicate people are a little upset that there are only eight included in the current version. And no, there isn't an iPad version so pixel doubling is your best option there (with the associated graininess in the image).Having said that, some console games don't scale down to handheld size very well, but Street Fighter's long heritage on lower-res platforms makes it look natural on the iPhone. There are semi-transparent onscreen controls for motion and action buttons.
