Apple Vision Pro finally gets a YouTube app today

<p><a target="_blank" class="link" href="https://www.engadget.com/apple-vision-pro-review-beta-testing-the-future-201430272.html" data-i13n="cpos:1;pos:1">Apple’s Vision Pro is a curious product — it initially wowed me two years ago, but it was hard to ignore that the visionOS platform felt incomplete without dedicated apps for YouTube and Netflix. Previously, you could only view YouTube videos via Safari, or through <a target="_blank" class="link rapid-with-clickid" href="https://shopping.yahoo.com/rdlw?siteId=us-engadget&amp;pageId=1p-autolink&amp;contentUuid=b8535746-270a-4860-b9a7-60cabdb1c91c&amp;featureId=text-link&amp;linkText=third-party+apps+like+Tubular+Pro&amp;custData=eyJzb3VyY2VOYW1lIjoiV2ViLURlc2t0b3AtVmVyaXpvbiIsImxhbmRpbmdVcmwiOiJodHRwczovL2FwcHMuYXBwbGUuY29tL3VzL2FwcC90dWJ1bGFyLXByby9pZDY3NDI0MjA1ODEiLCJjb250ZW50VXVpZCI6ImI4NTM1NzQ2LTI3MGEtNDg2MC1iOWE3LTYwY2FiZGIxYzkxYyIsIm9yaWdpbmFsVXJsIjoiaHR0cHM6Ly9hcHBzLmFwcGxlLmNvbS91cy9hcHAvdHVidWxhci1wcm8vaWQ2NzQyNDIwNTgxIn0&amp;signature=AQAAAUZoQVMPM3D4xWLebpGDH0d8y1zFWlco0msk_1CSFzVl&amp;gcReferrer=https%3A%2F%2Fapps.apple.com%2Fus%2Fapp%2Ftubular-pro%2Fid6742420581" data-i13n="elm:affiliate_link;sellerN:;elmt:;cpos:3;pos:1" data-original-link="https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tubular-pro/id6742420581">third-party apps like Tubular Pro.</p><p>According to an Apple representative, the YouTube Vision Pro app features every video on on the service, including shorts, 360, 3D and VR 180 content. I haven’t tried it myself yet, but it certainly couldn’t be worse than trying to navigate through YouTube’s desktop app via finger gestures. Now that Google is <a target="_blank" class="link" href="https://www.engadget.com/ar-vr/google-lays-out-its-vision-for-an-android-xr-ecosystem-160001103.html" data-i13n="cpos:4;pos:1">spinning up its Android XR ecosystem, the company probably couldn’t avoid the Vision Pro for long. And don’t forget, we may also <a target="_blank" class="link" href="https://www.engadget.com/ar-vr/whats-next-for-vision-pro-apple-should-take-a-cue-from-xreals-smart-glasses-113000437.html" data-i13n="cpos:5;pos:1">see a cheaper Vision Air next year.</p><p>Your move, Netflix.</p><div><div style="left:0;width:100%;height:0;position:relative;padding-bottom:56.25%;"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Ys2v-LZ08Uw?rel=0" style="top:0;left:0;width:100%;height:100%;position:absolute;border:0;" allowfullscreen scrolling="no" data-embed-domain="youtube.com" data-provider-name="youtube"></iframe></div></div><p></p>This article originally appeared on Engadget at https://www.engadget.com/ar-vr/apple-vision-pro-finally-gets-a-youtube-app-today-170000886.html?src=rss
