Remains of the Day: Billion, with a 'b'

Apple’s on its way to its next App Store milestone, Intel is prepping new graphics chips that could show up in Macs, and Adobe may borrow from one of its popular photo-editing apps for its next iPad outing. The remainders for Thursday, May 2, 2013 can’t count that high.

50,000,000,000 (iTunes Store)

The App Store is inching up on 50 billion downloads, and Apple has a countdown clock ticking away. The person who downloads the 50 billionth app will get a $10,000 App Store gift card, while the subequent 50 people net a $500 App Store shopping spree. Unfortunately, the limit is just 25 entries per day, so if your plan was to download 100,000 apps, think again.
