The deal would see Samsung fulfill Apple's demand for memory chips for the next iPhone. According to the Korea Times report:</p> <!--break--> <p>The agreement comes a few months after Samsung, the world's biggest memory chip supplier, began mass production of the next generation memory chip ― the 8-Gigabit LPDDR4 (low power double data rate) mobile DRAM with 20 nanometers. The so-called LPDDR memory, the most used in mobile devices, is poised to enable a new technological leap for premium smartphones.</p><p>Sources familiar with the matter revealed to the publication that not only will Samsung be shipping out components to Apple, but that the company will also be installing the in-house DRAM chips inside the Galaxy S6 (http://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s6). This deal would also join the order for Samsung to produce the A9 chipset (http://www.imore.com/samsung-reported-still-be-manufacturer-next-gen-apples-a9-processor) for Apple.</p> <p>Source: Korea Times (http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/tech/2015/02/133_173939.html)</p> </div></div></div><div id="comment-wrapper-nid-30114"></div><img width='1' height='1' src='http://tipb.com.feedsportal.com/c/33998/f/616881/s/43bbd6a5/sc/46/mf.gif' border='0'/><br clear='all'/> <a href="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/222166487447/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/43bbd6a5/sc/46/rc/1/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/222166487447/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/43bbd6a5/sc/46/rc/1/rc.img" border="0"/> <a href="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/222166487447/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/43bbd6a5/sc/46/rc/2/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/222166487447/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/43bbd6a5/sc/46/rc/2/rc.img" border="0"/> <a href="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/222166487447/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/43bbd6a5/sc/46/rc/3/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/222166487447/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/43bbd6a5/sc/46/rc/3/rc.img" border="0"/> <img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/222166487447/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/43bbd6a5/sc/46/a2.img" border="0"/> (http://da.feedsportal.com/r/222166487447/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/43bbd6a5/sc/46/a2.htm)<img width="1" height="1" src="http://pi.feedsportal.com/r/222166487447/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/43bbd6a5/sc/46/a2t.img" border="0"/><img src="//feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TheIphoneBlog/~4/ECWYR6dBySA" height="1" width="1" alt=""/> Source: Samsung reportedly set to supply Apple with new memory chips (http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheIphoneBlog/~3/ECWYR6dBySA/story01.htm) |
