<div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even" property="content:encoded"><p class="intro">There's a trademark in Switzerland that might complicate an Apple Watch launch in that country — except Apple has yet to announce one.</p> <p>The trademark (https://www.swissreg.ch/srclient/faces/jsp/trademark/sr300.jsp?language=en&section=tm&id=P-343807), for a logo showing a stylized image of an apple with the word "APPLE" in italics cutting horizontally across the middle, was filed in 1985 and expires this December. <!--break--></p> <p>The trademark is in the news thanks to RTS (https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=fr&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rts.ch%2Finfo%2Feconomie%2F6673190-apple-n-a-pas-le-droit-de-lancer-son-apple-watch-en-suisse.html&edit-text=) and Reuters (http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/04/04/us-applewatch-swiss-idUSKBN0MV0AJ20150404?feedType=RSS&feedName=technologyNews), who picked up their report yet somehow managed to misidentify the nature of the intellectual property claim as a patent instead of a trademark.</p> <p>All of this is currently moot, however, because Apple hasn't announced an Apple Watch (http://www.imore.com/apple-watch) launch for Switzerland yet. That means there's nothing to "hit" and really no story at all.
