Apple likes to control when it releases information to the public. That’s why it doesn’t present at trade shows anymore, but schedules its own events on its own schedule.

There’s just one catch: As a public company, Apple is obligated to release quarterly earnings reports, as it did Monday (http://www.macworld.com/article/2915318/apples-killer-q2-61-2-million-iphones-sold-13-6-billion-in-profit.html). And its presence in the financial sector means it needs to explain its business to analysts, at least a little bit. This is why we get a little piece of delight every three months: A phone call featuring CEO Tim Cook (http://sixcolors.com/post/2015/04/this-is-tim-apples-ceo-in-his-own-words) and CFO Luca Maestri talking to a small group of Wall Street analysts.

To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here[/url]
