<div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even" property="content:encoded"><p class="intro">Apple will reportedly stage a limited rollout of its transit feature in iOS 9, bringing it to only a few cities across North America, Europe, and China.</p> <p>Although first-party transit directions are said to be returning to iOS (http://www.imore.com/apple-said-be-adding-transit-directions-maps-ios-9) with the release of iOS 9 (http://www.imore.com/ios-9), only a few cities will be supported when the feature rolls out in the fall.<!--break--> These cities are said to include two cities in the U.S., one in Canada, and three across Europe.</p> <p>From 9to5Mac (http://9to5mac.com/2015/05/26/apple-transit-ios9-cities/):</p> <p>In the United States, the planned launch cities are San Francisco and New York, two major metropolitan areas that are known for public transportation, while Toronto will be likely Canada's sole representative for the iOS 9 Maps Transit feature at launch. In Europe, Apple is said to be gearing up to first launch the feature in London, Paris, and Berlin.</p><p>Maps will also be available in China, though Apple has using a partner transit data. While the company collected their own data for the U.S. and Europe, they are prohibited from doing so in China, thus the partnership with AutoNavi.</p> <p>Despite this limited launch rollout, Apple is reportedly already planning their second set of cities. These are said to include Boston, Massachusetts and Tokyo, Japan. It's likely these and more cities will be added over time in quiet over-the-air updates, which Apple already does with Maps corrections, along with the addition of cities to its 3D Flyover feature.</p> <p>Source: 9to5Mac (http://9to5mac.com/2015/05/26/apple-transit-ios9-cities/)</p> </div></div></div><img width='1' height='1' src='(http://tipb.com.feedsportal.com/c/33998/f/616881/s/46a9cfec/sc/28/mf.gif)' border='0'/><br clear='all'/> <a href="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/228858138038/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/46a9cfec/sc/28/rc/1/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/228858138038/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/46a9cfec/sc/28/rc/1/rc.img" border="0"/> <a href="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/228858138038/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/46a9cfec/sc/28/rc/2/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/228858138038/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/46a9cfec/sc/28/rc/2/rc.img" border="0"/> <a href="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/228858138038/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/46a9cfec/sc/28/rc/3/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/228858138038/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/46a9cfec/sc/28/rc/3/rc.img" border="0"/> <img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/228858138038/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/46a9cfec/sc/28/a2.img" border="0"/> (http://da.feedsportal.com/r/228858138038/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/46a9cfec/sc/28/a2.htm)<img width="1" height="1" src="http://pi.feedsportal.com/r/228858138038/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/46a9cfec/sc/28/a2t.img" border="0"/><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TheIphoneBlog/~4/ts4Ukk7qxJ0" height="1" width="1" alt=""/> Source: Transit directions may roll out to a limited selection of cities with iOS 9 (http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheIphoneBlog/~3/ts4Ukk7qxJ0/story01.htm) |
