Jony Ive officially assumes role of Chief Design Officer

Alan Dye and Richard Howarth will now be managing day-to-day activities of the User Interface Design and Industrial Design teams respectively, reporting directly to Tim Cook (http://www.imore.com/tim-cook).</p> <!--break--> <p>Apple has updated Ive's executive profile to reflect the change:</p>
<p>Jony is responsible for all design at Apple, including the look and feel of Apple hardware, user interface, packaging, major architectural projects such as Apple Campus 2 and Apple's retail stores, as well as new ideas and future initiatives.</p>
<p>The Cupertino giant has also added executive for Dye (http://www.apple.com/pr/bios/alan-dye.html) and Howarth  (http://www.apple.com/pr/bios/richard-howarth.html).
