The school named Cook as one of eight new members of the board on Tuesday.</p> <!--break--> <p>Cook actually started his work on the board on July 1, and will serve a six-year term along with the other seven new members. Some of the other new members include NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and The Coca-Cola Foundation Chairwoman Lisa Borders. There are a total of 37 members on Duke's Board of Trustees, who are in charge of the school's educational mission and fiscal policies.</p> <p>Cook attended Duke University after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University in 1982.
