Apple has joined the NFC Forum as a top-tier sponsor and taken a seat on the group’s board of directors, NFC World reports. Apple introduced an NFC chip last year in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to enable Apple Pay and is now in a prime position to help steer new developments in the technology.
