The news comes via a new interview with Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure, who said the company will slowly move towards selling smartphones at full price via a leasing business model.</p> <!--break--> <p>Sprint is already making the move to the new leasing model with today's reveal of iPhone Forever (http://www.imore.com/sprint-letting-customers-upgrade-their-iphone-any-time-same-monthly-rate), which will allow customers to upgrade to a new version of Apple's smartphone at any time while keeping the same monthly lease rate.</p> <p>T-Mobile has not offered two-year contracts for a couple of years now, and last week Verizon Wireless also ditched the contract model (http://www.androidcentral.com/verizon-wireless-revamp-its-data-plans-august-13-ditches-phone-contracts). This decision by Sprint means that AT&T will be the only one of the four major US carriers to still offer two-year contracts.</p> <p>Source: Sprint (http://www.wsj.com/articles/sprint-to-abandon-two-year-contracts-1439837235)</p> </div></div></div><br clear='all'/> <a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/234567380201/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/490ef35c/sc/28/rc/1/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/234567380201/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/490ef35c/sc/28/rc/1/rc.img" border="0"/> <a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/234567380201/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/490ef35c/sc/28/rc/2/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/234567380201/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/490ef35c/sc/28/rc/2/rc.img" border="0"/> <a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/234567380201/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/490ef35c/sc/28/rc/3/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/234567380201/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/490ef35c/sc/28/rc/3/rc.img" border="0"/> <img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/234567380201/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/490ef35c/sc/28/a2.img" border="0"/> (http://da.feedsportal.com/r/234567380201/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/490ef35c/sc/28/a2.htm)<img width="1" height="1" src="http://pi.feedsportal.com/r/234567380201/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/490ef35c/sc/28/a2t.img" border="0"/><img width='1' height='1' src='(http://tipb.com.feedsportal.com/c/33998/f/616881/s/490ef35c/sc/28/mf.gif)' border='0'/><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TheIphoneBlog/~4/UtDTE0uaUgU" height="1" width="1" alt=""/> Source: Sprint to ditch two-year contracts for all smartphones by the end of 2015 (http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheIphoneBlog/~3/UtDTE0uaUgU/story01.htm) |
