You can always try your hand at getting a cheaper MacBook off Craigslist or eBay, but there's considerably more risk. The model here has enough horsepower at 2.5 GHz and 4 GB of RAM, and 500 GB storage should be enough to store all of your assignments. If you're upgrading, you can always save some cash by selling off your old Mac (http://www.imore.com/how-sell-your-mac). Those specs, including screen size, can be pared down considerably, but even the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro starts at $1,300. Of course, you'll be paying a bit of a premium to get all of that in one package, but depending on how tightly packed your schedule is, it may be worth the investment. The MacBook has a 12-inch Retina display, 256 GB of storage, a 1.1 GHz Intel Core M processor, and 8 GB of RAM.
