Pono woes: Neil Young bemoans "lack of resources" for expanding the reach of the lossless music player

<p>Neil Young’s music startup Pono is running into money problems as it tries to spread the gospel of high-fidelity music.</p><p>In a Facebook post (https://www.facebook.com/NeilYoung/posts/10155900378645317:0), Young said the company has shipped “tens of thousands” of its PonoPlayers (http://www.techhive.com/article/2105783/neil-youngs-pono-hi-fi-music-player-revealed-400-for-128-gb-no-drm.html), which cost $400 and aim to replicate the sound quality of original master recordings. (Roughly 15,000 of those buyers presumably came from Pono’s Kickstarter campaign (http://www.techhive.com/article/2107441/neil-youngs-pono-music-player-blasts-past-kickstarter-goal.html).)
