However, a new report says that people who have installed the app in the U.S. and then traveled to China to use it have found that it doesn't work in that country.</p> <!--break--> <p>The New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/12/technology/apple-is-said-to-deactivate-its-news-app-in-china.html) reports Apple made the decision to disable the News app in China, according to their unnamed source:</p> <p>Those in China who look at the top of the Apple News feed, which would normally display a list of selected articles based on a user's preferred media, instead see an error message: "Can't refresh right now. News isn't supported in your current region."</p><p>Apple has not officially commented on the report. If its true, it's likely Apple made this move to avoid dealing with Chinese government censors.</p> <p>Source: New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/12/technology/apple-is-said-to-deactivate-its-news-app-in-china.html)</p> </div></div></div><br clear='all'/> <a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/241225814560/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4a99a495/sc/28/rc/1/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/241225814560/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4a99a495/sc/28/rc/1/rc.img" border="0"/> <a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/241225814560/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4a99a495/sc/28/rc/2/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/241225814560/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4a99a495/sc/28/rc/2/rc.img" border="0"/> <a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/241225814560/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4a99a495/sc/28/rc/3/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/241225814560/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4a99a495/sc/28/rc/3/rc.img" border="0"/> <img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/241225814560/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4a99a495/sc/28/a2.img" border="0"/> (http://da.feedsportal.com/r/241225814560/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4a99a495/sc/28/a2.htm)<img width="1" height="1" src="http://pi.feedsportal.com/r/241225814560/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4a99a495/sc/28/a2t.img" border="0"/><img width='1' height='1' src='(http://tipb.com.feedsportal.com/c/33998/f/616881/s/4a99a495/sc/28/mf.gif)' border='0'/><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TheIphoneBlog/~4/LMeL0UjICLA" height="1" width="1" alt=""/> Source: Apple News app has reportedly been disabled when used in China (http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheIphoneBlog/~3/LMeL0UjICLA/story01.htm) |
