However, U.S. District Judge William Alsup in San Francisco ruled in favor of Apple on Saturday.</p> <!--break--> <p>According to Bloomberg:</p> <p>Workers were free to choose to avoid searches by not bringing bags with them, U.S. District Judge William Alsup said in the ruling. "It is undisputed that some employees did not bring bags to work and thereby did not have to be searched when they left the store," he said.</p><p>The class-action lawsuit (http://www.imore.com/apple-hit-class-action-lawsuit-over-bag-searches-ordered-its-store-employees) represented over 12,000 current and former Apple Store employees in California.</p> <p>"Plaintiffs are disappointed in the court's ruling and are exploring their options, including an appeal," Lee Shalov, a lawyer for the workers, said in an e-mail.</p><p>Apple has not commented on the judge's decision.</p> <p>Source: Bloomberg (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-11-07/apple-wins-dismissal-of-suit-over-retail-workers-bag-searches)</p> </div></div></div><br clear='all'/> <a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/244157596615/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4b5513a2/sc/28/rc/1/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/244157596615/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4b5513a2/sc/28/rc/1/rc.img" border="0"/> <a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/244157596615/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4b5513a2/sc/28/rc/2/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/244157596615/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4b5513a2/sc/28/rc/2/rc.img" border="0"/> <a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/244157596615/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4b5513a2/sc/28/rc/3/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/244157596615/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4b5513a2/sc/28/rc/3/rc.img" border="0"/> <img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/244157596615/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4b5513a2/sc/28/a2.img" border="0"/> (http://da.feedsportal.com/r/244157596615/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4b5513a2/sc/28/a2.htm)<img width="1" height="1" src="http://pi.feedsportal.com/r/244157596615/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/4b5513a2/sc/28/a2t.img" border="0"/><img width='1' height='1' src='(http://tipb.com.feedsportal.com/c/33998/f/616881/s/4b5513a2/sc/28/mf.gif)' border='0'/><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TheIphoneBlog/~4/2xhjT2npACg" height="1" width="1" alt=""/> Source: Judge dismisses lawsuit against Apple over bag searches ordered on its store employees (http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheIphoneBlog/~3/2xhjT2npACg/story01.htm) |
