News: Report: Apple to pay Ericsson 0.5 percent of iPhone/iPad revenue in patent deal

Swedish company Ericsson has announced that it has settled a patent dispute with Apple, Reuters reports. Investment bank ABG Sundal Collier “believed the deal meant Apple would be charged around 0.5 percent of its revenue on iPads and iPhones by Ericsson,” as it stated in a note to clients. The “broad agreement” covers 2G, 3G, and current 4G-LTE technologies, Ericsson Chief Intellectual Property Officer Kasim Alfalahi said.…
