Apple reportedly planning to build second data center in Reno, Nevada

Apple may be planning to expand its data center facilities near the city of Reno, Nevada. That's the consensus based on a recent filing made by the company to the local county government. The Reno Gazette-Journal states: Apple filed a permit with Washoe County to build a new cluster of facilities adjacent to its original "Project Mills" site that it is dubbing "Project Huckleberry." Although previous activity at the site involved expanding on the original campus, permitting information indicates that Huckleberry involves the construction of a new data center. Initial construction for the project will involve a new full shell, several data center clusters as well as a support building. The new building will reportedly be similar in size to the first data center, which is online but has not been officially completed. It has 14 buildings that cover a total of 412,000 square feet.
