Corning unveils Gorilla Glass SR+ offering for wearables, possibly headed to the Apple Watch

<p>Just a month after introducing Gorilla Glass 5 for smartphones (https://9to5mac.com/2016/07/20/corning-announces-gorilla-glass-5/), Corning today has introduced Gorilla Glass SR+, its new cover glass for smartwatches. In 2015, Corning announced “Project Phire,” (https://9to5mac.com/2015/02/06/corning-project-phire/) which was said to be its efforts to create a material for wearables that combines the durability of Gorilla Glass with the scratch-resistance level of sapphire. A year later, we have Gorilla Glass SR+ and it’s ready to hit the market now…</p>
