New profile sheds light on Apple’s push to switch to OLED displays with iPhone 8

<p>It’s long been reported that Apple plans to switch to an OLED display (https://9to5mac.com/2016/10/29/iphone-8-plus-model-likely-to-use-curved-us-madeoled-display/) with at least one iPhone model in 2017, with supply and production issues (https://9to5mac.com/2016/11/16/oled-iphone-2017-rumors/) being the primary reason not to bring the technology to all models.</p>
<p>This evening, Bloomberg (https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-12-21/apple-s-search-for-better-iphone-screens-leads-to-japan-s-rice-fields) has published a new profile shedding more light on the production of OLED displays and how Apple’s inclusion of the technology largely depends on one supplier in the Japanese countryside…</p>
