Indian Government’s Revenue Department Declines Apple’s Tax Concession Demands

The Indian Government’s Department of Revenue has turned down Apple’s demand for tax incentives for setting up a manufacturing unit in the country. Apple had asked the Department of Electronics and Information Technology for exemption from custom duty on imports of components and equipment for 15 years along with relaxation from locally sourcing at least 30 percent of the total components locally.
