The foundry apparently wanted to begin mass production in April (https://9to5mac.com/2017/03/27/tsmc-to-start-mass-production-of-apple-a11-chip-in-april-ahead-of-iphone-8-10-nm-process/) but faced issues with yields. TSMC will be the sole supplier of A11 chips for the upcoming iPhone refresh.</p> <p>The A11 chip is also expected to be included in the iPhone 7s spec bump phones, which will seemingly use the same chassis design as the iPhone 7 (http://amzn.to/2pRrM4r) and iPhone 7 Plus (http://amzn.to/2pRqcPU), although this is not universally supported by the rumors.</p> <p> <a href="https://9to5mac.com/2017/05/11/tsmc-reportedly-starts-production-of-a11-chip-for-iphone-8-with-10nm-process/#more-481367" class="more-link">more…[/url]</p><img alt="" border="0" src="https://pixel.wp.com/b.gif?host=9to5mac.com&blog=22754319&post=481367&subd=9to5mac&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" /><img alt="" border="0" src="https://pixel.wp.com/b.gif?host=9to5mac.com&blog=22754319&post=481367&subd=9to5mac&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" /><div class="feedflare"> <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/9To5Mac-MacAllDay?i=q2zGo757Ldw:UnhX8u48C9U:D7DqB2pKExk" border="0"></img> (http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/9To5Mac-MacAllDay?a=q2zGo757Ldw:UnhX8u48C9U:D7DqB2pKExk) </div><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/9To5Mac-MacAllDay/~4/q2zGo757Ldw" height="1" width="1" alt=""/> Source: TSMC reportedly starts production of Apple A11 chip for iPhone 8 with 10nm process (http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/9To5Mac-MacAllDay/~3/q2zGo757Ldw/) |
