iPad Swims Into New Channels to Soak Up Market Share


Apple has announced that both Verizon and AT&T will begin selling the iPad Oct. 28. Both carriers will offer iPads starting at $629, but Verizon Wireless includes a MiFi wireless hotspot in that price. Meanwhile, Wal-Mart and Sam's Club have joined the list of mega-chain retailers that will offer the Apple tablet, and at least one analyst predicts that Apple could sell 45 million iPads next year.
