Apple Expands Availability of Refurbished 2018 MacBook Air, Mac Mini to U.S. and Canada

Apple has begun selling certified refurbished 2018 MacBook Air (https://www.macrumors.com/roundup/macbook-air/) and Mac mini (https://www.macrumors.com/roundup/mac-mini/) models in the United States (https://www.apple.com/shop/refurbished/mac) and Canada (https://www.apple.com/ca/shop/refurbished/mac) for the first time, following availability in several European countries (https://www.macrumors.com/2019/02/08/certified-refurbished-2018-macbook-air-mac-mini-uk/) starting Friday.

In the United States, refurbished pricing starts at $1,019 for the base model MacBook Air (https://www.apple.com/shop/product/FRE82LL/A/refurbished-133-inch-macbook-air-16ghz-dual-core-intel-core-i5-with-retina-display-space-gray), down from $1,199 brand new, and $679 for the base model Mac mini (https://www.apple.com/shop/product/FRTR2LL/A/Refurbished-Mac-mini-36GHz-quad-core-Intel-Core-i3-Space-Gray), down from $799 brand new. Various other custom configurations are available for each Mac with discounts up to 15 percent versus brand new prices.





While the refurbished higher-end <!---->MacBook Air<!----> models may be worth considering, the base model is worth passing over, as authorized resellers such as <strong>Amazon</strong> (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K1WRY8H/) and <strong>B&H</strong> (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1441816-REG/apple_mre82ll_a_13_3_macbook_air_with.html) are offering it brand new in box for $999 in the United States.

In our view, a refurbished Mac is virtually indistinguishable from a brand new one. They're also backed by Apple's standard one-year warranty.
