Apple confirms acquisition of Drive․ai self-driving car startup

<p><strong>Update</strong>: Apple has confirmed to Axios (https://www.axios.com/apple-buy-driveai-753da17d-60fe-44f9-84ff-1d2d82cd0b81.html?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=twsocialshare&amp;utm_campaign=organic) that it has acquired Drive.ai. In the process, it has hired dozens of self-driving engineers, most of which will work on engineering and product design.</p>
<p>According to a new report from the San Francisco Chronicle (https://www.sfchronicle.com/business/article/Drive-ai-a-self-driving-car-startup-once-worth-14047625.php), Apple has hired a “handful” of hardware and software engineers from self-driving car startup Drive.ai – which is planning to close its doors later this week.</p>
