A recent report claims that OSX/Shlayer malware infects 1 in 10 Macs. Shlayer often takes the form of a fake Adobe Flash Player installer—that's interesting for at least a couple of reasons. Flash is effectively dead; few sites use it, browsers are dropping support for it, and Adobe will stop releasing security updates for it in 2020. So why does malware still masquerade as Flash?
