Apple today confirmed that an employee has tested positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus at its campus in Cork, Ireland. In a statement issued to Independent.ie (https://www.independent.ie/world-news/coronavirus/apple-employee-at-cork-campus-tests-positive-for-coronavirus-39032207.html), Apple said the individual has gone into and remains in self-isolation. Apple has reportedly encouraged its employees in Cupertino and many other locations to work from home this week if possible (https://www.macrumors.com/2020/03/08/apple-work-from-home-coronavirus/). Another report this week claimed that Apple has offered its retail employees and some other hourly workers unlimited sick leave (https://www.macrumors.com/2020/03/09/apple-retail-unlimited-sick-leave-coronavirus/) if they experience COVID-19 symptoms, with no doctor's note required. Apple like many companies is taking various other precautions in relation to the COVID-19 outbreak, including suspending "Today at Apple" sessions (https://www.macrumors.com/2020/03/09/today-at-apple-seattle-sf-canceled/) in the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Italy, China, and select other locations. It is also looking like an inevitability that Apple will cancel WWDC 2020 as a physical event, with other large developer conferences like Google I/O and Facebook F8 having already been canceled.
Tag: COVID-19 Coronavirus (https://www.macrumors.com/roundup/covid-19-coronavirus/)
This article, "Apple Employee Tests Positive for Coronavirus in Ireland (https://www.macrumors.com/2020/03/10/apple-employee-coronavirus-ireland/)" first appeared on MacRumors.com (https://www.macrumors.com) Discuss this article (https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/apple-employee-tests-positive-for-coronavirus-in-ireland.2226096/) in our forums
 (http://feeds.macrumors.com/~ff/MacRumors-Front?a=LfyUOiPkdO4:Sy7d6dW6YuY:yIl2AUoC8zA) (http://feeds.macrumors.com/~ff/MacRumors-Front?a=LfyUOiPkdO4:Sy7d6dW6YuY:6W8y8wAjSf4) (http://feeds.macrumors.com/~ff/MacRumors-Front?a=LfyUOiPkdO4:Sy7d6dW6YuY:qj6IDK7rITs)
Source: Apple Employee Tests Positive for Coronavirus in Ireland (https://www.macrumors.com/2020/03/10/apple-employee-coronavirus-ireland/) |
