Apple is bringing on another former Google engineer to help run its artificial intelligence division. As reported by Reuters, the company has announced that it has hired Samy Bengio, a scientist who formally worked at Google until leaving the company "amid turmoil in its artificial intelligence research department." Bengio is joining John Giannandrea who also came from Google. Bengio is expected to lead a new AI research unit at Apple under John Giannandrea, senior vice president of machine learning and AI strategy, two people familiar with the matter said.
