DuckDuckGo is about to come to the Mac with a new desktop app. In a blog post from DuckDuckGo CEO Gabriel Weinberg, the company has announced that it is now taking what it learned from its iOS and Android app and building a full-fledged desktop app for the Mac and Windows. According to Weinberg, instead of building the app on the Chromium platform (like Microsoft did with Edge), it is using the "OS-provided rendering engines (like on mobile), allowing us to strip away a lot of the unnecessary cruft and clutter that's accumulated over the years in major browsers."
