Title: Trying to make a Hackintosh! Please Help!
Post by: ProToolsHacMac on March 20, 2009, 10:18:46 pm
Hi everyone! I'm a current Mac user (MacBook Pro) and I'm hoping to transform my home built PC into a Hackintosh so I can run my Pro Tools rig on it. I have absolutely no idea what I need to do or where to get the software...but here is what I'm working with:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Socket 939
8 GB HD (Startup Disk) 40 GB HD (Storage Drive) 7200 RPM (And several firewire 400 drives...)
Sapphire Radeon X1600 PRO - AGP Interace. 256 MB Memory - 128 Bit Memory Interface
Kingston ValueRAM - 2x256 MB PC3200 CL3 184-Pin DDR
AsRock 939Dual-Sata2

Currently running Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2

I intend to upgrade the RAM to the full capacity of the motherboard.

What do I need any where can I get it? Thanks so much for any help!
Peter

I also want to build a hackintosh.

At first: Which OSX do you want to install on your PC old Tiger, Leopard....
I try to install Leopard, because there is a easy distro , a modded version of course, which is called Leo4all.

Search a torrent bei google and donwload it.
Then make a DVD to boot from it and install your OSX.

The next step is to make sure , that your Hardware you use is compatible to OSX. I am worry about your AGP graphic card.
Also you have to configure your BIOS settings, because of Harddrives and Boot settings.

this is a big overview to install OSX on a PC. for better instructions visit youtube or other websites.

That's it I think.
