The iPad has a great battery life, but it requires a huge battery that accounts for most of the bulk added since the Retina iPad. A new display technology called IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) could improve the energy consumption of mobile devices, and hence require a less powerful battery for the same 10 hour battery life.
