Apple’s Maps app launch was marred with widespread criticism from users due to the lacklustre points-of-interest (POI) data. The situation was so bad that Tim Cook had to publicly apologize for the half-baked iOS 6 Maps app. But despite all the criticism, Apple Maps seems to be far more popular than Google Maps on iOS, possibly due to its default status on iPhone and iPad.
